Progressive Blackjack from PlayTech is an exciting game that comes from one of the leading producers of online casino software in the world. This game is played with eight regular decks of cards, and there is a shuffle after each round is played, which constitutes a random deal.
The minimum bet for this game is $5, while the maximum is $1000. You will play it like a regular blackjack game, with one notable exception - it is a progressive jackpot game. There is an additional bet that is made on each hand; a side bet of $1 that makes you eligible for the progressive jackpot.
Your chip tray includes all the chip denominations you can use in the game: .01, .10. $1, $5, $10, $25 and $100. Just click on the chip and then click on the betting circle to place a bet. On the bottom right of the interface are the buttons that indicate the various decisions you make: Hit, Stand, Double, Split, Insurance Deal, Rebet. After the round is played, then you can click "New Game" and get just that.
The rules that are in place will generally make this look like a Vegas Strip version of blackjack. In other words,
* The dealer must hit on 16 and stand on all 17's
* The dealer takes a hole card, with the other card face-up
* Blackjacks (two-card 21's pay off at 3-to-2 odds)
* There is the opportunity to split any pair (although re-splitting is not allowed)
* Only one card is taken to split Aces
* You can double down on any two cards
* Doubling down after split (DDAS) is indeed allowed.
* Insurance is allowed, and it pays off at 2-to-1 odds.
There is nothing especially odd about the layout. It obviously looks very much like a conventional blackjack table, with a shoe, discard rack and chip tray for the dealer, and up to five betting spaces available for you to play (as you have selected multi-hand mode). You'll have to ante up a side bet for each of the hands you want to play. There is a slot in front of each place, where you will be depositing a coin (in virtual fashion, of course).
You can also participate in multi-player and group mode in this game, in which you can have other players sitting at the same table.
Here are the hands that will pay off with progressive bonuses, and the amount of money those hands will yield:
* A pair of Aces, unsuited (i.e., not of the same suit) -- $25
* A pair of Aces, suited (i.e., of the same suit) -- $100
* Three Aces, unsuited -- $250
* Three Aces, suited -- $2500
* Four Aces, unsuited -- $1500
* Four Aces, all Red or all Black -- JACKPOT (ding, ding, ding!)
In case you forget any of these, the pay table for the progressive combinations is always available to be viewed, with a click under the actual ticker that shows the progressive jackpot figure.
Here's the catch - any of these combinations must be consecutive and must start with the first card dealt.
At all times, you'll be able to follow the progressive jackpot, because it is displayed at the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
