Five-Count Craps Strategy
If you are playing craps, and this applies whether you are competing in the online craps game or playing in a physical land casino, one of the things you want to do is be able to exploit the situation when you go on a streak. Like many gambling games, craps is one where you can go on a streak, and you have to be in a position to cash in when you can. There are systems that have been created to help you do that. One of them is the Five-Count Craps System, which should be rather easy to pick up once you learn to pick up on the principles and steps involved.
The object here is to catch a shooter who can go off on a long run. The belief is that the shooter gets hot, and you want to ride it. Are there better shooters than others? Well, that might be something of a fantasy, but the actions of a shooter do indeed have impact. So the idea, if you are in the brick and mortar casino at least, is to catch the right shooters.
Now we come to the actual "Five Count," and where that is derived from are the five steps involved in your approach.
- First of all, the shooter is going to throw a point number. You DO NOT count this as a step if the shooter throws a 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12.
- The next step is that the shooter throws any number except seven (7). This is when you start to bet. And you are going to bet the same on the Come and Don't Come.
- Then there are steps 3, 4 and 5. In these steps, you are basically laying out the same bet combinations. If a number hits, then you just put that combo back out there. What you want to do, however, is add full odds to all of the Come bets.
As the game progresses, there is a method that is necessary to follow, although it does not seem so scientific. If none of your numbers comes in after three rolls, call all the odds off. Then you will wait for two rolls, and if the shooter is still rolling, put the full odds back up.
There is a certain "danger zone" here. Yes, you can get "sided" with a 12 rolled. That means you will lose on the Come bet, and push (tie) on the Don't Come bet. Of course, you can take some solace in the fact that this is a longshot. In fact, it is a 35-to-1 shot that it will come up on any given roll.
The overall idea behind the Five Count craps system is that while you may win on less bets, you are going to win more ON those bets. This system also has the potential to keep your bankroll alive longer.
There is also an interesting sidelight to this system. In many cases, you are putting more money into action with much less risk than usual. You get credit for this "action," whether it is something that can help you move toward comps in the physical casino environment, or toward play-through requirements that are needed to take advantage of bonuses from the online casino.
