Netherlands Online Gambling

Big changes are happening in the world of online gambling internationally, and it looks as though the Netherlands will be the next to introduce legalized online gambling. This follows new regulations to ensure that French players turn to the legal sources to bet on their favorite events and games.
All egaming will be regulated under the Dutch government in the Netherlands. It will be on a non-exclusive basis but allows for more control and safety. Some of this is still speculation, as a formal statement has yet to be issued from the Government, but Newspaper De Telegraaf, announced it crediting “sources in The Hague” and this was reported on the front page. It’s believed that the Netherlands will sell licenses and make a competitive industry. “Total revenues of this [plan] are estimated at €100m, but that could increase up to €270m per year,” said the paper. This could be good for the economy!
Last month, it was suggested that poker should be legalized in a similar fashion. This new rumor indicates that it won’t just be poker but all forms of gambling to ensure that it is legalized and protects players. They are following the France and Italian licensing models that have recently been suggested and implemented. Currently the lotto is the only form of legal gambling in the Netherlands, so this will be great news for those who want to get in on a bit of online casino gambling! Betfair is hoping to be the first to get a license and will reapply as soon as possible, though they were turned down in the past.
The ECJ has emphasized the need for full-disclosure when it comes to online gambling licensing for the safety of online casino players. If this happens, it will follow the necessary structure!
