Cryptologic and Marvel Comics resolve Marvel slots games dispute

There have been some legal issues occurring over the past few months relating to the Marvel Comic themed games produced due to a breach of contract. Cryptologic at one stage was the only online casino software provider to offer games based on the Marvel superheroes that are loved around the world. Marvel themed games have included the Hulk, Spiderman and many more. Almost every superhero you can imagine falls under the Marvel umbrella. Well, previously, Cryptologic had an exclusive deal to create games that are true to the Marvel theme. Earlier this year, Cryptologic filed proceedings against Marvel saying that they had breached the contract that gave them the exclusive rights to these games. The two companies were able to come to a new deal, and now Cryptologic has a non-exclusive contract that’s been extended for a number of years.

The new contract between the online casino software provider and Marvel has been extended to January 2014. The costs are reduced for the software provider, although, they are now able to produce mobile online casino games under the Marvel theme in addition to the other types of games they have focused on to date. While they will no longer be the sole developer, this new deal may allow them to begin producing games again, which isn’t something that players have seen for a while. In December 2008, more than 17 games with the Marvel themes came out, but there has not been anything else since. Players can look forward to more new games that may come out in conjunction with the release of new Marvel movies that have been hitting theatres.

This whole lawsuit came to light when Marvel decided to establish a deal with Playtech; another software company that has more recently begun producing other Marvel games. It was announced that Playtech also formed an exclusive deal, which was obviously not seen positively by Cryptologic which had been offered the same contract to produce the online casino games exclusively.

.Now, players that are fans of one software provider or the other will be pleased to know that their favorite Marvel games should become available from both software providers. Neither software provider has an exclusive deal to create the Marvel games so each of them can continue to do so. Players can choose based on their own personal preferences as many of the popular titles are likely to make an appearance if they haven’t already!
