Baccarat is one of those casino games that has been viewed by many US players as something that is reserved for the very rich and privileged, but like a lot of things, the internet changed the whole dynamic on that. The version of baccarat that is designed and developed by Real Time Gaming, one of the world's great online casino software companies, sees to it by producing a game that is easy to understand and follow, as well as one that is accessible for all levels of betting.
It also does a great job of simulating the actual atmosphere of a "real" casino. With its vivid graphics and display as well as a very clean layout, it's user-friendly and a very feasible platform for the beginner to get a grasp of playing the game of baccarat and having a lot of fun with it.
When you're playing this baccarat game, you've got the ability to make adjustments to all the sounds that are part of the game, so if you want to play without them you can, although we would recommend that if you are relatively new to the game of baccarat, you want to hear that dealer's voice when she tells you what kind of hand the Banker and Dealer have. You will place a wager on the Banker, the Dealer or a Tie, then the cards are dealt. There are no decisions for you to make beyond the amount of your wager, and in that way it sort of limits the kind of casino strategy you can use.
The game is played with a 52-card deck. Two cards make up each initial hand. The best possible hand is a nine (9). This means that when you bet on either the Player or Banker, you are betting that one of them will come closer to the total of nine (9). There are three places: Tie, Banker, Player. You first select which of these you are going to bet on, then click on the chip denomination you want to place there: $1, $5, $25 or $100. Click multiple times on the chip to increase your bet, up to the maximum bet of $100.
The cards are dealt out side-by-side; the Player is on the left, with the Banker on the right. After the first two cards are dealt to each, there are fixed rules in place that determine whether either of these hands will receive a third card. All of this gets done automatically, and the program pays you off and moves you to the next round of play. With the speed controls, you can go as fast as you want, so you can get as much money over the table as you want.
Winning a bet on the Player hand pays even money. Winning bets on the Banker do as well, but they require you to pay a an amount equal to 5% of your winning figure to the house. The Banker hand offers a better percentage bet than the Player hand, but that is mitigated somewhat with the commission you must pay. Ties pay off at 9-to-1, which is actually better than many games, which offer 8-to-1.
The best part is that the "aura" of baccarat, although enthralling to some, gets demystified to a certain extent, because there are no barriers to your participation - just a $1 bet and you're in!
