Before Texas Hold Em, 7 Card Stud was one of the most popular types of online poker. Today, Texas Hold Em truly has taken over, but there are still many online casino players out there who like to take advantage of their old favorite game when they play online. While it may not be the most popular anymore, 7 Stud Poker is still a great game to play for those who truly enjoy poker.

In Real Time Gaming’s version of 7 Stud Poker, players aren’t playing directly against other online players at the table; their hands are actually compared to the paytables that go along with the game and are featured by RTG. For those not familiar with 7 Card Stud Poker from Real Time Gaming, the game starts with a wager which is allowed up to 5 coins. The maximum coin size with 7 Stud is $5. Then, true to the name of the game, seven cards are dealt face down to each player. Only the first and third cards are turned back up. Players then have the option to either discard their whole hand for a new one or place their wager. The second bet must be the same size to the first. Once the wager is placed or a new hand received, the fifth card can be viewed. Players can continue to look at their other cards and choose whether or not they’d like to keep on seeing their cards or place more bets. Four betting periods take place, and the cards are exposed after each one, or they can be viewed without having to bet at all.

The game is actually made simple because by the time the complete hand has been exposed in 7 Stud Poker, the best hand based on poker rankings is automatically highlighted by the RTG software. This means that online casino players don’t necessarily have to be familiar with their poker hand rankings too strongly. As soon as this has happened, the hand is compared to the payout table which adjusts for the number of coins wagered.

To make the game more exciting, RTG added a bonus round to their 7 Stud Poker game. It’s a double or nothing game where players can choose to put some extra money on the line and players must predict whether the face down card is a large denomination or a small one. This happens when there are only 6 cards visible in the hand. There’s a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

The bonus round in Real Time Gaming’s 7 Stud Poker pays out differently than the main game, although it is still worthwhile and great for those who truly like to gamble.

7 Card Poker is available to players in the US since Real Time Gaming does allow it. This means that they can get back in touch with their old favorite card game without limitation.
